As the boating season is winding down, please consider Woodland when making provisions for boat winterization. Our prices are reasonably AND include free dewinterization in the spring. Our winterization price/check list and agreement forms are available as links under Additional Services. Please complete these forms online or come by the service department or office to fill out the paperwork, thereby authorizing Woodland to perform the work. The old adage is “BE PREPARED”!
The winterization of your engine, outdrive and/or generator consists of: Draining the block, running antifreeze through the engine, fogging engine (carbureted) cylinders, lubricate grease fittings and checking outdrive lube at drain plug (when accessible). Closed cooling systems will be checked to ensure proper antifreeze levels. All engines will be filled with at least 4 gallons of antifreeze. Generators will be filled with at least 1 gallon of antifreeze. (Non-toxic antifreeze protection to at least minus 50 degrees will be used.) Stabilizer will be added to fuel to prevent separation. Fuel tanks should be at least 3⁄4 full before winterization. Dewinterization procedures vary depending on boat and are included as part of the winterization service, free of charge. Prices below are for labor only. There will be an additional charge for materials.
